It's Name Says it AllDec 12, 2006
By K. Montgomery This stuff is akin the the La Brea tar pits for hair. Thick and beyond gooey, when you dip into it your fingers come away with thick globs strung between your fingers and the jar. That being said--you do not need much at all! Remember, you can always add more if needed, but you can't get it out except for with a washing. It's a shade somewhere beyond electric blue with a funky little scent reminiscent of citrus and sugary candy.
The shine is awesome, but the main problem I've had with this product is it's heavy. No matter how little of it I use, it seems to really weigh my hair down. The style I try to morph my locks into with it just doesn't stick and it looks like someone's cupped their hands over my hair by the end of the day and given it a personalized hat head look. In a pinch, with just snipped hair, it works fairly well, but starts to work less well once my hair's grown out about two or so weeks. Considering the price, there are better, more consistent pomade products out there.

Effective Hair Texturizer-Former-StylerJun 10, 2008
By O. Brown
"Ms. O. Khannah-Brown"
***** Bedhead Manipulator by Tigi is a unisex hair cream that can be used for styling, texturizing, and forming. It is not really a gel, more like a very sticky cream (almost like glue or paste...or even cement!) that is the consistency of honey. It dries very naturally though (not at all like glue or paste), and leaving a sort of fiber in your hair. Although all of this sounds weird, it seems to work much better than hairspray, which leaves a film OVER the hair; Manipulator is WITHIN the hair, so you can do more with it. It feels soft and nice when dry too---never greasy or waxy---and I can leave it in the next day without having the dirty feel to my hair that leaving the hairspray in does.
The way I use it is I put a very small amount on my fingers, and then rub my hands together. Next I apply it throughout my hair, but especially to the roots for lift. Lastly I twist and sort of "tweak" the ends of my hair to add texture. I have a short haircut, and it is the perfect product for people who have very little time or skill but who want a tousled and textured look.
It may seem expensive, but you use very little each time, so the two ounce container lasts a long time.
Highly recommended. *****

Best product out there like it!May 12, 2007
By Dina G. Lininger I have short blonde hair. This is the BEST haircare product I have EVER used, and I have tried LOTS. If applied sparingly you will end up with cool Meg Ryan bed-head type hair. My stylist also uses it.

Great product for very short, straight hair.Jul 15, 2007
By J. levy I have a "pixie" hair cut, and I have never found a product that helps me style and place my hair...until now. Better than hair spray. You just need a very little bit on your fingers and place your hair where you want it. The Manipulator does the rest. Remember...just a very little bit. I recommend it highly.

Less greasy than the alternative, but less holdMar 25, 2012
By eagle747 The good: Has a great coconut smell. Once it is on your hair though you can't smell it unless someone directly sniffs your hair. Not as greasy as the alternatives. If you use just enough it won't have much residue feel once in your hair. Gives hair a spikey yet soft look at the same time.
The bad: If you are looking for an edgier look that requires more hold then this is not the product for you. Gluey consistency is not great in wet hands. Should be applied with dry hands. This is great for short hair that just needs a little hold for a soft bedhead or general straight haired look.
alternative: For a sharper look with more hold use this: [...]
