I am an African American with very long, very thick hair. I have more hair than anyone I know - besides my Hispanic sister-in-law, who has a comparable amount. I grew out my relaxer a few years ago, and have since been seeking the right products to tame my mane. There was only one stylist who could straighten my hair -- and it would stay straight. After going to many other stylists, just to have my hair poof back up at the slightest hint of rain or sweat, I decided to invest in the same products my favorite stylist was using...There is no trick--It's the PRODUCT!! The iron, shining sheen and movement mist, brilliance polisher, and thermal protectanct keep the environment OUT OF MY HAIR!!!!! I don't run when it's misty outside, nor do I forego excercise for the sake of my hair...If they had a commercial/infomercial, I would definitely do one for them. I even use the products on my four-year-old daughter's hair!!! I LOVE RUSK!!! Everyone asks how my hair gets so straight and stays and I have no problem with telling my not-so-secret lol! (Wish I could post a pic)

too funny. when i ordered my flat iron there were no reviews, now it seems like we all had the same idea. anyways, i got my flat iron today and i love it. this is the one my stylist uses, and i put off ordering it b/c of the price, but now i am glad i decided to spend a little extra money to get a quality flat iron!! i love it, it made my hair so soft and smooth all day long. i have thick, slightly wavy hair that gets frizzy in the Mississippi heat; luckily, i won't have to worry about it this summer thanks to this flat iron.
if you are worried that it doesn't get as hot as it says, trust me it does and in under a minute. it made my hair hot to the touch so i had to wait like three seconds for my hair to cool off before running my fingers through it.
BuySalon, the seller, gave great expedient service. i ordered this friday morning and got it monday afternoon. i wasn't expecting it until tomorrow! love it!

Still have my flat iron and love it. I use it everyday. The only thing I wanted to add was a heads-up. There is no automatic timer shut off, so if you are the type to forget to unplug the flat iron, you may want to invest in one with an automatic timer. This one will stay on at super high heat for as long as it is plugged in.

My friend used this iron on me to prove a point; I was a die hard Chi iron user and she wanted me to convert, lol. I recently moved to the UK and shorted (destroyed) my Chi iron. On a visit home, she flattened my hair with her Rusk iron. Now, my hair is curly like telephone coil and this iron perfectly pressed my hair with minimal effort! I was really surprised at the ease with which she was able to perfectly coif my hair! Seriously! Neither she or myself are stylists but from the look of my hair, nobody could tell! I highly recommend this iron and $130 isn't a lot to pay to have you hair look salon-worthy every day. ALSO...I think its important to note that my hair did not smell like burnt hair; it did not feel burnt or damaged. It felt soft and well treated. That is what really sold me on this iron. Invest in yourself...and this iron.

BE CAUTIOUS: The iron that is being sent is Rusk Model IRECTC2092. This number is clearly indicated on the inner handle of the iron. They are passing it off as the silver RSK732. This is a black iron much lighter in weight. The actual box has no indication of the model in the box except a picture."

This is by far the best flat iron I have ever used. Where I live, it gets VERY humid. Every day. So finding an iron that keeps my hair straight all day and doesn't get frizzy is hard. This one does it. The first time I used it, my hair had been in a ponytail all day so there was already more waves in it than it already has, plus it was a frizzy mess. My best friend straightened it for me in under ten minutes...in the band hall. Normally, it takes me 45 and it isn't even that straight then. But after using the rusk, it was pin straight. Talk about a piece of heaven.
